OLA!

I have completed more than 75 years on this planet (birth year 1927)  and now want to create a website that will allow sharing my more than  three-quarters a century worth of experiences with anyone interested in dropping by this page, the welcome mat is out 24/7.

I currently live in an adult community in the USA, state of Arizona, county of Maricopa and have a postal address in the city of Mesa but our community is not incorporated and is known as a "county island". The community is rated highly by services doing such evaluations and in fact it is a terrific place to live; not Shangri-la, but close.

Relocation to this area occurred in 1987 when we built a retirement single family residence here. Prior to this, the place where I had lived longest was Portland, Oregon, and before that, Los Angeles, California when it was a livable, enjoyable city without so much s-m-o-g; and there was even a "before that" but I'm sure you get the picture, home is wherever I find myself.

In 1992 I became a widow and faced the decision of what to do with the rest of my life, which I intend to last for perhaps another twenty-five years, and a large part of the answer has been to keep as physically and mentally active as possible. This has resulted in continuing to enjoy hatha yoga (since 1970), tennis, hiking, walking, swimming, golfing (much less of that now) bridge, reading and traveling. Recently I have taken classes in mah-jongg and am trying to acquire computer user skills.

In the past I've been active in various organizations, the usual parent activites, PTA, etc., Girl Scout leader, Cub den mother, League of Women Voters, Republican Party, Democratic Party, and privileged  in the past to have enjoyed memberships to Multnomah Athletic Club, Columbia-Edgewater Golf Club and Willamette Valley Golf Club.

In facing living as a single I established the goal of wanting to achieve the sense that I was a resident of planet earth and not from time to time being a ZONI, an Oregonian, or Californian, in other words a more worldly identity consciousness. Think - travel, travel, travel.

This I have accomplished to a degree and hope to continue expanding that sensitivity. This life voyage has been adventurous, intriguing and at times tragic, but each moment is valued for becoming a part of the whole me. I look forward to sharing much of it with you.
