Untitled The web has often been described as the Worlds largestlibrary. Since we use the library to obtain books and thereforeknowledge why don't we use the web for training. In fact, this isthe biggest innovation in knowledge transfer (education) sincethe invention of books. Some of the pages in this section willprovide "class room substitutes" developed by our ownLWCC members. Other links will take you to external sitesdeveloped by professionals. All are designed to provide you withan alternate way of learning more about your computer and it'ssoftware. There are some several advantages that Web basedtraining can provide: - You can set your own pace.
- You can review points you are not understanding several times.
- The material can be improved as students provide feedback.
- No physical facilities are required and therefore:
- Seven by twenty-four schedule
- No class size limits.
- Note taking becomes simple cut and paste.
- (and the end results are readable!).
There are also some disadvantages: - Immediate student/teacher interaction of the "I don't understand" is lost.
- Interaction with other students is not available.
- Cost of material preparation is generally higher than classroom instruction.
- Some people find reading from the screen much less comfortable.
We want to include you in this grand experiment, if you arewilling to spend a few hours of your time in this section of theLWAZCC web. Each course author values your feedback on his/hermaterial. Be sure to provide constructive criticism of thecontent and organization of the material presented. Also, thankthem for the effort they have made to provide the on-lineinstruction material. Time to start your first Web class!
